A pretty ugly defensive effort, at least they were able to put some pucks in the net against the Sens Regular roster.

The PK looked pretty good but the powerplay was awful, and there was no urgency at the end of the game.

Biron let in one questionable goal, but the rest were horrible GWs and odd man rushes.

Todd White- Looked pretty good, had some good positioning and didnt give up on plays.

Derek Stepan- Besides the goal, had a very rough game. I believe he was a -3 or -4.

Zuccarello- Had a decent goal, looks a little lost out there at times. At least part of the year in Hartford would be good for him.

Weise- Looked pretty good out there, I think he deserved more of a look then he got.

Kennedy- Pretty steady out there, was able to create pretty well. I still dont know if hes done enough to stay on the team.

Fedotenko- Dont see how they could cut him, played well again and was a +3.

Boyle- I believe he is the most improved Ranger, played hard hockey again. I could see him developing into a solid player if he keeps it up.

Sauer- Played well again, I dont know if they should trade him. He could easily be a solid 5-6 Dman this year.

Eminger- Should be gone, played poorly. He is weak in the corners and let his man score easily from the slot.

Valentenko- Liked what I saw, he plays hard hockey. Itd be nice to see him make the team.

Christensen- Probably the worst ranger tonight. He floated alot and was constantly out of posistion.

Boogaard- No idea how that was a Game misconduct.

Boogaard got it on an intent to injure. You can't spear someone in the balls and expect to stay in the game. Not too bad of a penalty though. He sends a message to the opposing teams who might take a run at our guys in a situation that won't hurt the team during the season.
I actually thought stepan had a pretty solid game. He made some good defensive plays and his goal was a rocket to the top corner (how about that pass from Biron?!). No way in hell he doesn't make the team.
I agree on eminger though. Absolutely TERRIBLE. There's no way he can make the squad the way he played.
I didn't think mcdonagh had a great game either. He turned over the puck a lot, at least once that lead to an ottawa goal.
Gilroy continues to impress me, as well as sauer and valentenko. Even if rozy is still hurting by the beginning of the season, I like our depth at defense.

Stepan will learn to play better defensively, but nobody can deny that he played his way onto this team. Looks like Christensen lost his spot on the top line.

What does the lineup look like on opening night?

Gaborik - Stepan - Frolov
Callahan - Anisimov - Dubinsky
Avery - Christensen (Prospal if healthy) - Fedotenko
Prust - Boyle - Boogard/Kennedy

Staal - Girardi
Gilroy - Valentenko/McDonagh
Del Zotto - Sauer

??? Just thoughts I have no idea who is gonna make the team. Injuries to Prospal, Rosival, and Drury also play a factor.

I like those lines. Id just switch stepan and christensen. The avery/steps/feds line looked really solid. How about this for the first line juggle torts does:

Gaborik-Christensen-Dubinsky
Callahan-Anisimov-Frolov
Avery-Stepan-Fedotenko
Prust-boyle-boogs/kennedy
