Young team, lacking veteran scoring, trying to hang in there until Gaborik returns. If Torts came down hard on them after that effort, then things would really fall apart. I like how Torts is trying to manage these kids, but there is still a big talent gap right now with the top teams, which only grows with Vinny and Gabby out of the lineup. The plan is to stay afloat until they return, but will they be effective when they come back? We shall see.

im getting so tire of torts saying how hard he is about how bad the rangers play in their own zone. that is said so much because of the lack of transition into offense this team has. if the effort stays the same when gabby comes back we'll be ok. wait thats pretty much that john just said lol.

@John - The NYR's are third in the league in scoring/game and thats without Gabby or Prosp scoring one goal among them. It's not the transition game that is the problem but our coverage or lack thereof in our zone, the cheating on the transition aspect that is causing the players to not control the gaps properly. The 30+SOG each game will wear out Henrik before the season comes to an end, regardless of Biron.

I have to disagree. The Rangers transition from offense to defense is terrible. The defense need to work on their gaps. Every team skates in so easy into our zone and has time to make a pass. When the Rangers are rushing with the puck we can barely cross the blue line with out having to dump it.

people wanted a young team. we have 2nd youngest d in the league. and the 12 forwards are not helping on the defensive side of things with the exception being cally

Young or not these are the things hockey players learn when they are little. They have been playing the game their whole life and they dont know how to gap a foward skating down the ice??? Come on, stop blaming they are young.
