For his efforts in last night's 3-1 win over the Devils, Brandon Dubinsky was named Sunday's 3rd Star by Puck Daddy...
No. 3 Star: Brandon Dubinsky, New York Rangers Along with leading all Rangers forwards in ice time, Dubinsky shot to set up Ryan Callahan's deflection for a power-play goal and his empty-netter iced it for a 3-1 Rangers' win over the bumbling New Jersey Devils. Stick tap to Henrik Lundqvist for coming up big when he needed to during a 27-save performance.
Michal Rozsival was given an honorable mention.
...like I said in my post game thoughts Dubinsky is turning into the player we always hoped he would. Got to give Sather credit for not pulling the trigger on any of the trade proposals that Dubinsky's name was mentioned in.

Frolov is kinda lost, Christiensen should be sent down or waived, Avery is doing his best, but Callahan and Dubi have steped it up in the past couple of games. They are leading this team as of now purely by example. It is their team. Lets see if they can carry a team till everyone gets back.
i think the 4 top d men and the goalie have a lot to say on whose team it is
no way christensen s/b sent down or waived. he will sit some games if all are healthy - a rare occurrance - but he certainly helps the depth.
an empty net goal with 1 sec iced the game? even if he missed the game was over as the clock would runout. to give the props he looks good on the pk and last minute of play but on the other side despite 4 goals only 2 are with a goalie so not as impressive as some seem to think
Goalie and D have tons to do with it. Im not giving Dubi and Callahan props for the goals at all. It's for the effort. They seem to always be involved in every play, aggitating people with there aggresivness and just skating real hard all the time, more than any other forwards. Anisimov and Avery and Prust and Boyle all have been good to, just these two seem to stick out a bit more, and they are from our system. Thats why I think this is kind of thier team till the big boys get back. And I'm sorry Christiensen should be gone or sit when Drury comes back. Anisimov, Drury, Stephan and Boyle are all better choices than him at center. He has shown me nothing but bits and pieces of good play, nothing more...
With all due respect Joe... just my opinion.
well gone is iffy. team still needs depth so even if the guy sits some games he should still be on the roster especially at his cap favorable hit. i'd take him over any player at hartford and some on the roster as well
meaning christensen
re the other 2 - love cally and even more by standing up for his teammmate today rozy.
he and # 17 have done solid work on the pk and in the last minute of the game
Amazing what a 3 game streak will do to all the naysayers. I read most of the blogs and have yet to see a "this team sucks" or Sather bashing since the Avs loss. Loving the lunchpail, blue collar work ethic these last 3, but have to ask, why must it take injuries to key guys for the team as a whole to actually "skate harder, keep it simple, play tough in all three zones," and all the other sound bites? I hope this an "identity" in the making and not just another tease. Then I can truly wear my #24sweater with pride. BTW, who is this #33 shooting the puck so much?
