It's time to use Boogaard. Let's go Rangers!

i dont understand why torts wont have the boogieman just attack armstrong, who cares if we lose him to suspension and/or lose the game? it sends a message to the rest of the league, loud and effin clear!

Rangers should should have Boogaard, Prust and then Avery fight this guy. Who cares if we're 'off our game'? Who cares if they get a suspension or 2?! If we don't stand up for ourselves NOW we'll get and deserve NO RESPECT.

Any other team in the league sends their soldiers out to clean up this mess. If we don't, Torts should be coaching somewhere other than NY.

HA Adam looks like we were typing the same thing at the same time...

How about we take repeated boarding penalties all night long? Board the crap out of their players, any and all! A few separated shoulders of their own and they'll start thinking twice.

Or Boogaard could just jump him and pound his face in.

An I meant Armstrong. I've got nothing against Orr. I could care less if he fights tonight. It'd be entertaining, but I'm more interested in direct retribution.

Hahaha I didn't really think we were on "our" game this season anyway.

Ok lets all understand something ...sending the boogey man out does NOT send a message to the league. other teams dont give a sh*t about the rangers in this regard. They do not game plan on the basis that they can take a run at Gabby because no one will do anything about it. It doesn't happen, there is no broadstreet bully's anymore. it is a different game and a different league.
Now should someone run the crap out of Armstrong...absolutely. should boogie, prust or anyone be willing to drop the gloves to protect thier team...absolutely 100%. but not because of the message it sends to the league but because of the message it sends to thier OWN TEAM. if these guys start playing hard for eachother things will fall into place (even without a true first line).
so no more rah rah crap about sending a message to the league, the league doesnt care...again the only message that the league will pick up on and respect is if the Rangers start earning 2 points a game.

Sorry pete, but if Boogaard doesnt't pull an Ogie Oglethorp and jump on top of this guy, its going to be a very annoying game.

Adam Brett said...

pete i have to respectfully disagree

youre telling me if boogey lays the smack down on armstrong the rest of the league wont take notice? suspensions always get talked about around the league, look at that schmuck rypien on vancover, what a tool!

but i dont think boogie should go after armstrong, he should eff up phil kessel, hit em where it really hurts

i really hope torts had a long talk with the team and told them to say the right things in the media but when it comes down to business tonight we take a stand, we cant let them hurt our best player and do nothing about it, if they dont take a stand tonight then they have to do it when they play them next time, HAVE TO!

Maybe wecan have Fedotenko fight armstrong.

I agree 100% with Pete.

Adam you're saying you want Boogard to attack armstrong and are encouraging us to just forget about the game and just worry about going after Toronto. But then you call Rypien a "tool" for doing just that. Seems kind of hypocritical.

Charlie Farrell said...

Notice how Fedotenko went after Armstrong after he hit his teammate from behind? Wonder what changed from now until then

Torts should put a bounty on his head! "Ogie Oglethorple", love it.

Adam Brett-

"i dont understand why torts wont have the boogieman just attack armstrong, who cares if we lose him to suspension and/or lose the game?"

"but i dont think boogie should go after armstrong, he should eff up phil kessel, hit em where it really hurts"

You obviously don't care about hockey and just watch for the fighting if you want us to just go out there like a bunch of goons and attack the other team, regardless whether we lose the game.

Adam Brett said...

hey ok now im being attacked for wanting retribution for them having hurt our best player? ive been watching and playing hockey since 1991, i didnt say forget the game, just make them pay!, how long will the retribution take with killing off the penalty? 5 minutes if he really does a good job of effin him up? our PK is good forgetting the way weve looked so far this year, then we still have 55 minutes of hockey to play!

cmon fellas, the way the rangers have played and stuck up for each other the last few years, they are a bunch of pushovers who lets any team run over hank as much as they want, hows about some team toughness where i dont care if its the hobbit out there, they come to hanks aid and knock the piss outta whoever just bumped or sprayed snow in his face

bunch of effin cupcakes and that needs to change ASAP

Pete8 said...

Brett i hear ya but i still believe the league doesnt care.
1- based on the first couple games i believe boogie is smarter than that believe it or not
2- if he does do something the only message it sends is that he is finally doing what is expected of him
3- any retaliation what so ever will not change another teams opinion of playing against the rangers. they wont tone down thier game plan because the boogie man is on the ice or any other player is willing to do whats right for a teamate (your number 1 star non-the-less).

i think our boys in blue need to be aware every time armstrong is on the ice tonight and guys need run the hell out of him (but cleanly) along with anyone else who has a maple leaf on there jersey. If the entire team gets on the same page and plays with some balls and wins games its send a stronger message than any beat down ever could.
that doesnt that mean i wouldnt love to see boogie have his with with armstrong...i would very much enjoy that...but it wont help our team unfortunately and i dont think it will happen tonight.

Pete8 said...

Brett my last comment was to your original comment. your second one is getting a lot closer to on the mark. the entire team needs to toughen up and play hard nose hockey and stop being soft.
couldnt agree more about situation around Hank but for things to change the rangers need to play tough every minute of the game, 1 guy trying to fight out there will never stop teams from taking advantage.

wow... charlie... I am sure adam knows a lot about hockey, and i am pretty sure he didn't say all he wants to see in hockey is a bunch of goons going at it.... He seems upset, like any other real ranger fan would be, that armstrong didnt' get pounded... No one is saying we should ignore the game... but when the opportunity arises, armstrong or kessel should be getting hit and hit hard... Of course Torts actually has to play Boogaard more the 2 min a game for him to make any sort of impact. Why he wasn’t on the ice across from Armstrong the next shift is beyond me.

Adam Brett said...

Pete im in 100% agreement to your last comment, but cmon wouldnt it be fun to see the boogeyman beat the piss outta somebody? i mean isnt that the reason we got him in the first place?!?!

Kevin DeLury said...

Great back and forth guys. I love it!!!

edmo said...

Boogaard should just slam into whom ever is in goal tonight. (make sure its a really good hit too) No one will think it's intentional since he can't skate anyway.

LI Joe said...

they go for our star we go for theirs. hurt them a lot more to go after kessel

Brett i'm with ya....but i just watched Boogie and Orr go at it and i gotta say...pretty disappointed with the Boogie Man
