Fedotenko Accepts Ranger Tryout Invite

Update, 10:15 a.m.:
Steve Zipay at Blue Note tweets that Fedotenko is on the ice at informal workouts this morning.

Original Post:
TSN reports that Ruslan Fedotenko has confirmed that he has accepted an offer from the New York Rangers to attend their training camp on a tryout basis.

For more on the invitation click here.

...i guess it can't hurt to bring someone in on a tryout. But I'd hate to see a young guy like Grachev missing out on important reps in training camp or minutes in a preseason game because of this guy.

...h/t to reader ernie for the heads-up.

While I'd love to see young guys too, if they can't beat out Fedotenko, they're not ready. Also, this guy was a pretty decent player for Torts in TB--scored the Stanley Cup winning goal against Calgary. Prospal pt 2?

"... if they can't beat out Fedotenko..." I agree with that. This guy has been to more pre-season workouts than the young and up and comers and you'd think that'd put a fire under their collective asses. Watch what the vet does and beat him at it...
