The New York Islanders announced today that Jed Ortmeyer has accepted an invitation to Training Camp on a Professional Tryout (PTO)....as Scotty Hockey tweeted. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
...so the question is, if Jed makes the team is there anyway you can root for him in an Islanders jersey?

I don't think I could root for him in any jersey. I don't get the Ortmeyer love. To borrow a phrase from baseball, he's always been a AAAA player.

OMG..for all my fellow hardcore Rangers fans..all I have to say about this situation is..awkward.
i too was never on the ortmeyer love train. decent 4th liner nothing more nothing less. used to drive me crazy with the future captain talk.
actually hope the isles improve a small amt this yr - i'm tired of them getting top 5 picks. about 10 from bottom league wide would be perfect.
btw - isles have 2 games wed and 2 friday so they need 16 vets each day to satisfy league rules. they added several guys in last couple of days and i think streit and okposo are both hurting. like i said i want them to be bad but not very bad just pretty bad - enough to continue the no winning playoffs since 1993.
