More Praise for Stepan

Kevin Allen at USA Today takes a look at some things to ponder during the first weekend of training camp including Derek Stepan...

"Keep an eye on Rangers rookie center Derek Stepan, a skilled rookie from the University of Wisconsin. If you believe that players who shine at the World Junior Championships will eventually shine at the NHL level, then Stepan is destined to be a noteworthy player. He was a captain of the USA team that won the 2010 WJC gold medal. He was also the tournament's leading scorer with four goals and 10 assists in seven games. The best guess is that he would start in the American League, but Stepan has the ability to turn heads."

...no doubt Stepan is turning heads early in camp. The goal now for the youngster is to sustain it. Which is sometimes more difficult to do.
