USA Today Ranks Rangers Last in Atlantic

Kevin Allen at USA Today previews the Atlantic Division and puts the Rangers dead last...

Key question: Can the Rangers compete without a true No. 1 center? Vinny Prospal, Erik Christensen and White have flair, but each seems better suited as a second-liner. Christensen and youngster Derek Stepan have centered the Gaborik line in camp.

Allen also thinks the Rangers are going to end up 14th in the 15 team Eastern Conference.

...you guys know I love when the so called experts hate on the Rangers, but this is unreal. Lundqvist alone puts the Rangers ahead of the Islanders in the Atlantic and at least to 10th in the Conference. What in the world is this guy Allen smoking?

i for one would love if we came in 14th. We won´t win the stanley cup, so we just aswell could get a high pick.

I agree that this is unreal. If Hank and Gabby stay healthy, I think the team will be slightly better than last year, but in all cases, better than the Fish Sticks.

If Hank and/or Gabby get hurt, then this might be accurate.

Rangers are going to score more goals this year but will give up more goals too...what is going to make or break the season this year will be how well they do in one goal games and shootouts.

How do people feel about a Rosy for Souray deal?

I hate it.

edvin, that' just an absurd comment. Saying that so prematurely really makes me question whether you are a ranger fan. I can understand maybe if they come out and play like crap the first 50 games, but you got to at least give them a fighting chance to be a top 6 team in the conference

With Streit out for the year and Okposo out until December I don't see the Isles finishing ahead of the Rangers.

Not to mention that the Islanders just recently lost Mark Streit for the next 6 months do to an injury, as well as losing Kyle Okposo to injury for a prolonged period of time. I don't know how these people are aloud to write things like these, without them looking into it at all.

I'll never understand wanting the team you're a fan of to LOSE. That's so miserable.

That's not what i meant. I would love it if we came in 14th because i think we will come in 10th or 11th. Thats why i think a 14th place would be very good. Of course i would prefer a play off-spot. But hey, thats not gonna happen.

And hey, i am a huuuuge rangers fan.

i know exactly what edvin is saying. lose the basttle win the war. worst spot we can finish is where we finished last yr 9th in east. either make the playoffs or be worse not the worst case scenario we suffered through last yr
