Open Letter to the Rangers; 85th Anniversary Logo @ Center Ice? (Updated)

Update, 4:12 p.m.:
SNYRangersblog confirms Scotty Hockey rumor with this pic from one of their readers...

...that's pretty f'n awesome.

Original Post:
Scotty Hockey tells Ranger players some things they need to know before they get the 2010-2011 NHL season started. Here's an excerpt...

1- First and foremost, being a Ranger requires respect. Respect for your teammates. Respect for the jersey. Respect for the fans. Respect the Rangers. Everything else on this list falls under this dictum. Respect. It sounds simple, but it's not. It's a complete way of being that will require hard work but the payoff is virtually limitless - watch the tape of Eddie Giacomin's return with the Red Wings.

...this entire letter should be posted on the Rangers locker room wall. Couldn't have said it better myself. Great job Scotty.

Scotty also tweets that he heard a rumor that the Rangers will put the 85th anniversary logo at center ice in the Garden for this season and is trying to confirm.

Wow looks really nice.

Respect = overrated by fans. I'll take world class talent. The rest is dictum.

Christopher, couldn't agree more. NHL 11 is awesome but this logo would have been sweet in the game. Atleast I put in the real Rangers goal horn.

Kev - Thanks for the kind words.

Kev H - World class talent can only take you so far. We had stellar performances from Hank and Gabby last season and look at how far we got ...

Can't wait to see that logo in person at the pre-season opener on Thursday. Yeah, I'm going - they make us buy the tickets so what the heck - it is hockey and you don;t have to stay for the whole game because it doesn't matter who wins.
