After two and a half years of staring at the same blog design I decided to change things up a bit. Nothing too drastic. Just enough to give it a new feel without a crazy redesign.

I like the new design, though I'm not so fond of the new banner tbh :)
it kinda reminds me of MS paint :$ why not put up a contest to make the new blog banner? (following your directions of course) :)
old banner was great... I like this new design, easy on the eyes, nice and blue lol... but I agree with the guy above me, it's meh!
I agree, the banner is kind of cheap looking. Maybe this is a case if it isn't broke? Either way, keep up the great work.
I'm shocked Dan Carcillo could string 12 words together before he exploded from sheer excitement.
And yeah, the design looks great - but I agree with the banner comments. A contest to design a new one would be a great idea IMO.
banner could be a lil less plain..just my two cents...still love your site and will continue to use it daily no matter what the banner...just sayin
Looks like I'm going to have to do a banner contest. Reader Bauer Goalie 94 has already e-mailed me one. It's actually pretty cool.

Honestly, not a big fan of the redesign. It looks kinda 1990's AOL to me. A better banner would surely help, but overall I don't think it's a vast improvement over the generic blogspot layout from before.
New design is good... gonna take some getting used to, but the banner is way too bland. With the massive sea of blue, its almost too 'bright'... cant really think of a better descriptor.

Kevin, It was a good try but the previous design hands down was better. The old design looked more professional than the new. The new banner is terrible and is hard to look at. Please change back maybe with a new banner even though I really liked the old banner too.
honestly. as a designer, i have to say im not a fan of the redesign. with that being said, the content is great, and thats what matters

This has some merit.
The blue color is, I think the issue here. It stands out too much. Perhaps swap colors with the blog dates and the blog titles?
That just tripped me out dude, I need some kinda warning for stuff like that.
OK got rid of the blue background on the banner as it was a bit irritating.
Banner contest will be announced this afternoon.
I like the old design better. Make the contest for the whole design layout not just the banner.
A banner contest would be cool...can you give us about a week or so to come up with submissions?
