The Rangers Mount Puckmore

This summer Puck Daddy has been running a "Mount Puckmore: The four faces of..." series and today they look at the Rangers.

The four faces they have of the Rangers are Frank Boucher, Mark Messier, Brian Leetch and Jaromir Jagr.

...while I can't deny how influential Jagr was to reviving the Rangers franchise there is no way he should be one of the four all-time faces of the Rangers. Where's Bathgate, Giacomin, Gilbert, Howell or Patrick?

Scotty Hockey has his own Mount Puckmore.

Yeah the Jagr choice is an odd one. I think its definitely an attention grab from the blogger since he knows the puck daddy readership is huge.

The Jagr choice had to be there for nothing more than to piss people off and guarantee responses.

So many people deserve to be on that list before him.

The only player I would put before Jagr is Giacomin. Jagr had some great years for the Rangers and did bring the franchise back from the dead. Jagr is one of the best players to ever play the game. I wish he was still on the team.

Glen Sather deserves to be on the list before Jagr. After all... without Glen, Jagr wouldve have needed to revive anything.

Also dont think Jagr wouldve revived much without LQ in net.

I'm not mad at seeing Jagr on the mount.

Jagr- a joke right? I have no complaints about Jagr the player or the person, but one of the faces of the NYR organization for playing 3 1/2 yrs. Thats like putting Gretzky on the mount because he played for 3 years.
Agree with Chris: too many players belong on the list.

no way jagr deserves it based on his short ranger stint. whoever names him has to be less than 25 yrs of age with no concept whatsoever of guys before 2000

messier, leetch and 2 of these 4 - eddie g, richter, bathgate, gilbert
