Looks good definately an improvement over the other one and I like the net in the corner it's a nice touch

Not bad, definitely an improvement. Though I have some (constructive) criticism :p
Instead of having a black fadeout border, I think it would be better if it was white so it flows seemless into the background and the rest of the site.
Also the letters of "The New York Rangers Blog" are not very readable imo. It needs a little more contrast!
That one looked real good, but I don't award it a winner before I see the another contests..

Not quite web 2.0 enough IMHO.
It seems a little out of focus to me; could be brighter and sharper, since the whole page is white. Nice start though!
its an improvement, but this is a pretty serious blog... its still a little too amateur.
Adrian, I appreciate the "serious blog" comment but banner #1 is far from being too amateur for the blog.

Mattias nailed it... I like the banner, white border and more contrast on the lettering would be great... but great job i really like it, the net and ice backdrop are sweet.
