MZA in Rangers Jersey

Here's a photo of Mats Zuccarella Aasen in a Rangers jersey during rookie showcase in Toronto this morning from Chris Johnson of the Canadien Press....

...MZA rivaling Vanbiesbrouck for longest name on the back of a Rangers jersey.

with all the recent signings it is too bad he will never play in the garden.

hey, did we sign any more washed up 3rd liners today?

The day is young icy.

It'll be fun hearing the Versus announcers mispronouncing his name or pretending it's harder to say than it really is.

"What a move by....Zucca...uh...Aaseenn uh...wow he turned that D-man into a pylon!"

You're assuming he makes the team Jack.

They should have just let him put MZA on the back. That would be bad-ass.

So his name in Navajo means- 'big name little body'.

Oh, I'm totally assuming he makes the team.

nothing like a norweigen with a navajo name.. wow good one... and @ icy ..who are the washed up 3rd liners ??? I mean if you consider White washed up okay.. and i agree we have more than a couple of 3rd-4th liners, but kennedy is 24 and far from washed up MZA is an unproven rookie whop may replace frolov next year or step it up this year (NO RISK) Stepan and Grachev get another year to grow with 1st line duties instead of 3rd-4th line duties and are alwasy available in case of infjury.... in fact a pretty solid hardworking young forward group is something we havent had in years and years.... (isnt that what we all wanted ...) fuck people get over the 1st liners already this isnt a video game.. its not alwasy the big names that win games.. with a gamebreaking goalie and a couple snipers surrounded by a good solid group of hardworking defensively responsible guys who arent afraid of the corners we can have great success...(see devils circa '94 til....hmmmmmm now!!!! we have our top two lines , we have our scorer(s) we have our PK guys, faceoff men, soundly responsibl;e defensive guys, hardwrokes (a shitload,, Prust, Cally< dru, WHITE, the list gos on... and adding 3rd and fourth liners only further establishes depth which allows for competitions for roster spots and also allows torts to ice 2 solid scoring lines and 2 solid grinding lines.. with prust , avery, kennedy we have a very good trio of bluecollar guys add to that guys like the Boogy man who will strike the fear of god in anyone and battles for the tow other spots we can essentially afford to place our duby's and callys and drury's together and forlovs and gaboriks together.. I love what sather has done here he has done what we have been asking he has started to build from the ground up.. if you start with your first line and work down teams start to thin... Chicago won with several great players yes, but they also had 4 solid lines and their bases covered in every way... i love the look of this team calling a top 5 finish and some playoff success

Andrew I love the positiveness!!!

I seriously believe this team will be the best/most hardworking club we have seen in years and I truly believe if they come together and our young d-men improve, that we can become one of the better teams in the league...

Looks good! I think he'll make the team. No "washed up 3rd liners" would lead the swedish elite league in points, playing with forseberg and naslund and them.

i love the long name on the jersey. now i really hope he makes the team.

Andrew went off!

Everything you said is valid. I think Torts finding the right mix is key, hope he doesnt overdo shuffling the lines up again

andrew is right to the extent that we signed some guys who are only about 24 in mza and kennedy so to large degree not signing older guys - note white was a dump brashear trade and white might well be in ahl

Andrew, don't you know to stay away from Dolan's Kool Aid? But it is a refreshing outlook and one that can't be refuted at this time of year ...
