Yet Another Reason to Hate Sather

TSN reports that former Rangers Assistant GM and current GM of the Phoenix Coyotes Don Maloney was named the winner of the inaugural NHL general manager of the year award.

Maloney was rewarded for guiding the Phoenix Coyotes to the most successful regular season in franchise history. His biggest move was hiring head coach Dave Tippett, who guided the Coyotes to the playoffs for the first time since 2002.

...glad the Rangers decided not to keep him around to supplant Sather. Having a former popular player with obviously a smart hockey mind I guess made too much sense for the Dolans.
