TSN reports that the Florda Panthers have sent forwards Nathan Horton and Gregory Campbell to the Boston Bruins for defenceman Dennis Wideman, the 15th overall pick in this year's NHL Entry Draft and a third round pick in 2011.
...with a couple of big names already on the move and the Rangers all quiet on the western front it looks like Sather is sticking to his word of not giving up the future. Which is great to see.
I agree with James. Horton is a 30 goal scorer and is still young-- with his best hockey ahead of him. And in the process, they unload Wideman who has heard the boo-birds on a nightly basis in Boston all while keeping #2 pick....good deal for them.
Kevin, I get the "not giving up the future" thing, but the future has to look bright.
You've seen what the Rangers "future" is right now and you are impressed and confident that these future rangers are capable of excelling?
Horton is a good young forward, that arguably is instantly as good as ANY ranger forward (other than Gaborik) and you think its "great" that Sather didnt even attempt to acquire him?
