Gordie Clark, Rangers' Director, Player Personnel, says...
"Ryan is a real solid defender. He's very strong and he's very mobile. And that's what he counts on. His job is to got out and shut down the best line on the other team on a consistent basis, and that's what he does."
...hoping the Stepan signing leads directly to McDonough coming on board. If the Rangers are seriously contemplating sending Redden to Hartford in September, McDonough could get a real shot at making the team.
...Staal, Girardi, Gilroy, Del Zotto and McDonough. Talk about a young, talented blueline that could be the cornerstone of the team for years.

Honestly, could he be worse than Redden? Seriously...any playing with this much promise should be given a shot over Redden even starting another season in the NHL.

Sanguinetti man , Bobby Sangs
Not sold on Sangs yet. I'm really curious to see what he brings to camp in Sept.
For all the talk about Sangs you gotta be curious. The scouts and coaches like him and they get to see what we do not. He didn't have the camp he wanted last year which means he may come back with a vengeance this year. We'll see.
That said, I'm excited about Mc Donough. But he's probably not going to be NHL ready this year anyway.
We're probably gonna have to stomach another year of DRedden. Unless he seriously turns his game around, it's really going to come to a head next year (if it hasn't right now). While the coaches try to work with him and make him worth something, perhaps the organization can figure out a creative way to bury his ass the following season.
Looking forward to some of these prospects filtering in over the next 2-3 years.
