Stepan Makes Big Plays

Day 16 of newyorkrangers.com's '2- Prospects in 20 Days' brings us the newly signed Derek Stepan.

Gordie Clark, Rangers' Director, Player Personnel, says...

"He consistantly comes up with big plays. He never gets in that panic mode. When you're calm like that, you can usually find someone that's open. ...At any time in a game, players like that can make a play for a goal."

...really excited that the Rangers were able to get him signed. Very doubtful we'll see him with the Blueshirts this year. A full year in Hartford should have him ready to compete for a spot on the 2011-12 roster.

Totally agree- with a year in Hartford and the dynamics of Slats leaving and having to hire a new GM, coach and new philosophy for the direction of the team. This could be a very exiting time after this coming year is through. Prospects-new direction and contracts expiring.whoopee

Wait, Rick I didn't read the whole post. Why do you think Slats is leaving?
