After tweeting the entire Memorial Day weekend from the Hamptons, including almost giving out Henrik Lundqvist's cell phone number and offering revealing photos of the Rangers star netminder (see here and here), Aaron Voros has abruptly deleted his Twitter account.
...Voros was one of the better athletes to follow on Twitter as he always posted pics of him and Avery running around Manhattan, but this weekend I think he went a little too far and I'm sure Lundqvist probably let him know. Which I'm sure lead to him deleting his account.
...these athletes have to realize that while it's fun to post on twitter, facebook or a blog anything that they release to the masses on the web can come back to bite them or a teammate in a matter of minutes. If Voros couldn't control himself, probably a smart thing to delete his Twitter page.
...it's probably only a matter of time before each sporting league, if they don't do it already, make it mandatory that every athlete take some type of social media awareness class.

Great catch ...
Thanks.
OMG. Lamest thing ever. And people wonder why the NHL has trouble getting more fans in the US. People want to see the drama -- or at least a bit of personality. Look at the NBA and NFL tweeters. Voros was tame in comparison.
I agree with sasha-vic. I don't think Voros went too far. Those who think he did are overreacting. His tweets will be missed!
