Rangers to Make Big Push for Boyle

Eklund at HockeyBuzz says that the Rangers are going to make a big push for Dan Boyle...

"The Rangers are the team that most looks like they are going to make a big push for Dan Boyle. According to a source, "There are two teams, NY and Philly, to start, that are weighing out waiting for Forsberg or going hard after Dan Boyle."

Of course we can't talk about Tampa without expressing that there is a certain degree of decision making that depends highly on the ownership situation in Tampa. From what I have been told, the new owner would be more likely to sign Boyle than the previous one. A week ago it looked like "all bets were off" when it came to the new ownership group buying the team, now it looks like it is back on again. A week ago Boyle looked to be moving and now they are negotiating.

So we will see."

...in the eight games since returning from the disabled list, Boyle has 2 goals, 5 assists and is a -5. I can go without the -5, but you have to look at the team he's on.

...like Eklund says, Boyle's availability is going to have a lot to do with the purchase of the Lightning by Hollywood producer Oren Koules. The possibility of Tampa re-signing Dan Boyle seems to be a lot better now that Koules could have a potential say on a long-term contract. Erik Erlendsson at the Bolt Report gives a nice write up on the sale.
