Rangers Not Likely to Pursue Hossa

Larry Brooks of The New York Post writes that with the improved play of the youngsters on the Rangers they are less likely to go after Marian Hossa before the trading deadline...

"...These are not your older brother's Rangers. These are the Baby Blueshirts, who yesterday had nine players age 25 or younger taking a regular turn. That included Ryan Callahan, recalled from Hartford to take the place of the ailing Brendan Shanahan.

This is the path to the future. This is why even though Atlanta GM Don Waddell attended the match, presumably looking over both clubs for bounty to bring home in a rental agreement for Marian Hossa, the Rangers likely will not bite..."

...after years of going after high priced aging superstars its nice to see this team's commitment to developing its youth. And its really paid off with the ever improving play of Staal, Dubinski and Dawes.
