Brooks reports today...
"...the New York Rangers and Henrik Lundqvist are down to the shortest of strokes in finalizing a contract that is believed to be in the six-year, $36M neighborhood..."

"The Lundqvist contract, by the way, could be finalized as early as this week. Agent Don Meehan told me last night: “We’re getting close. I’m going to talk to Glen again on Monday.” Perhaps, once the deal is finally signed, Lundqvist can take off and take the Rangers down the stretch with him."
...this is like the third time I've posted that the Rangers and Lundqvist are close to signing. I wonder if its actually going to happen this time.
...I'm surprised that Sather is giving Lundqvist $6 million per. I thought with the way Lundqvist's been struggling he could have gotten it down to between $4.5 and $5 million. Happy to see no DiPietro type 15 year deal.
...hopefully Lundqvist can sign this week and get this distraction out of the way so he can focus on getting the Rangers back into the playoffs.
