Huge Jessippointment

Over at the Blueshirt Bulletin, Dubi writes about what a huge disappointment Hugh Jessiman, the Rangers 1st round pick in 2003, has been so far...

"There is more to (LA Kings Brian) Boyle scoring a goal against the Rangers in his second NHL game than the goal itself. When Boyle bowed in New Jersey the other night, he became the 29th player drafted in the first round in 2003 to reach the NHL. The only player not to make it -- Hugh Jessiman. The remarkably strong first round has already produced a number of star players -- nine of the 22 forwards selected are among the top three scorers on their teams this season, including four selected after Jessiman who lead their teams (Zach Parise in New Jersey, Mike Richards in Philly, and Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry 1-2 for Anaheim), while six of the seven defensemen selected are top-four defenders on their teams, five of them among the top scorers on their teams among defensemen. Only poor Hugh Jessiman has not made it to the NHL."

...too say Jessiman has been a bust is an understatement. However, how much of a chance has the Rangers organization actually given this kid to succeed in the NHL? Sometimes you get one of these players who is lost in the minors and when you bring him up to the big club something just clicks. Its not like if the Rangers bring him up he could make the offense worse. Plus I haven't seen a lick of offense from either Moore or Byers when they're called up, so why not call up Jessiman.

...man how could we overlook Parise and Richards. That's some bad scouting.
