Crowned

Last night the New York Rangers (27-23-6) were defeated by the Los Angeles Kings (22-30-3) by a score of 4-2. Alexander Frolov and Anze Kopitar each had a goal and an assist to lead the Kings. Scott Thornton and Brian Boyle also scored for Los Angeles, and Jason LaBarbera made 23 of his 39 saves in the second period. Chris Drury and Sean Avery scored for New York, which had won three straight and five of the last six. For a full recap go to Yahoo! Sports.

...I told you this was a letdown game. Thankfully I wasn't able to watch it, because from what I read today I think i would have been physically sick.

...once again this team makes a below average goaltender look like Patrick Roy. While Labarbera was always a solid AHL goalie in the Rangers organization there is no way he should be making 39 saves against this lineup.

...while I've definitely called for Hollweg to be benched, I think last night you saw what this team looks like without him in the lineup. No energy. If no one else is going to step up and be that source of energy with Hollweg out of the lineup then he needs to be in there.

...depending on how long he is out, this team might have taken a huge blow last night with the knee injury to Blair Betts. While I'm more of an offensive threat than Betts, he is probably our best penalty killer as well as great faceoff man and shot blocker.

...one positive is the continued offensive surge from Drury, who has now scored goals in four straight games and is actually tied with Shanahan for the most goals on the team with 17. How bad is our offense, when the guy who has taken the most heat this year for not scoring leads the team in goals.

No show for the 1st period, awsome 2nd period, many chances, just couldnt finish, avg. 3rd period.
I dont kn ow how all this team talked about was getting off to a good start and than getting out played and shot 14-1 in 1st half of the 1st period.
Was interesting to see that without hollweg the 4th line saw much less ice time.
I was at the game and should have known it was going to be a disaster when Rugymer (Giants backup center) and some other Giant I never heard of dropped the puck at opening ceremony. What an embarassment to the Rangers that was the best they could get from the Giants.
Ever aaron Ross went to the Nets games last night.
