MZA Scores Hat Trick

Bruce Berlet at CTWhale.com reports that Mats Zuccarello scored a hat trick as the Hartford Wolfpack/CT Whale snapped a nine game losing streak with a 7-1 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (Islanders) last night.

G Chad Johnson on MZA...

"I remember a game last season when the Rangers were kind of going through the same thing, and (former Wolf Pack wing) Ryan Callahan was just flying one game and got two goals. It’s like that one guy who sort of steps up and leads the way. Tonight it was Zuccarello. He was just all over the place, in the right place defensively and getting pucks."

MZA, who also had an assist last night, now has seven goals on the season.

...looks like the kid is starting to come around. Also nice to hear he was also responsible on the defensive end.

Here's video of the hat trick...

MZA FTW. Two things the Rangers don't seem to have right now/this season: One timers and wicked, dead accurate wrist shots.

i didnt think any of those goals were anything special...in fact i feel if it was on an nhl calibre goalie that none of them would go in...

or if he was playing an NHL calibre defense, he wouldnt have had the oppurtunties...

but of course i want to be wrong about him.

Right, so why bother basing a player's AHL stats/performance on whether or not he should play in the NHL.

bring the Wolf pack power play lines up!! better then then the "power play" the Rangers are using now

Kennedy, williams and mza were playing hard and putting themselves in the right place at the right time. I wish they kept Kennedy instead of White. He has so much more potential.

gary - except white has sat well more than 1/2 the games and when he plays its like 6 minutes. so how would that help kennedy or any other prospect. and besides if kennedy was that good why did 29 other teams pass him by when he was avail on waivers

yeah,he cleared waivers so he obviously sucks. What a stupid ass argument. Almost as dumb as andrew 794's rant.

Yawn.

@Andrew- agree, I didn't see anything special about the goals at all, except for a goalie having a bad night.

well clearing waivers past 29 other teams means the guy is not a factor. may not suck but certainly not worth crying about why he's not here. stop overhyping guys in this organization remember 29 other teams have scouts too.
