Biron In; Lineup Tweak

Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants reports that Martin Biron will start tonight against the St. Louis Blues.

...St. Louis is the hottest team in the league and Lundqvist is coming off one of his best performances of the season. Yeah, starting Biron makes sense. Huh?

Gross also reports a couple of changes to the lineup...

Dubinsky-Anisimov-Callahan
Frolov-Christensen-Fedotenko
Avery-Boyle-Prust
Boogaard-Stepan-Grachev

...assuming the switch of Fedotenko and Prust is to jump start Frolov.

Good article by Brooksie on the Fedotenko hit.

In order to jump start you usually need a little sign of life to ignite the spark. So far Frolov has looked as dead as dead can possibly be. Hopefully they can somehow light a fire under his ass. Easily the biggest disappointment so far this season. The Dubi-Anisimov-Cally line could really use some secondary scoring help right now with Gaborik outta the lineup.

phew. at least i dont have to decide whether to play lundqvist tonight for fantasy hockey haha.

On a more serious note... The King has had a lot of action last few games. I think Biron will come up big tonight. (2GA on 31 shots)

I hope you're right John.

Goals could come at a primium for the NYR's tonight, depending on how hard they play in fornt of Halak. Heres hoping that Biron could match the play at the other end.

Hopefully Halak gets a rest today. He played last night and faced alot of shots. Maybe the Rangers hve some inside information lol.

I'm all for Biron starting. Plus St. Louis isn't in our division (obviously) so a loss wouldn't directly impact the Rangers.

Halak wa spretty shaky against the Bruins last night.

He got beat 4 times but was saved by the post/crossbar. Twice during regulation and twice during shootout.

All four times, they were medium distance shots high to each side. I hope the rangers scouting crew noticed this.

You have to start Henrik tonight!!! I don't agree with this move at all

Yeah, it's prob bc the Blues aren't in the division. makes sense.

Henrik HAS to sit, it can't be like the last few years where he's playing 70+ games, and an out-of-conference game is the best time to do it.

This is the perfect game to sit him. They have two conference games this week (Was. and Buf.) for Henrik to start, then Edm. on Sun. for Biron to start.

They are playing 16 games in November. They have to spread the workload.

Love the Avery-Boyle-Prust line.

I think this is a good move with Hank. If he doesn't take a night off tonight the next game is against the Caps. That would be 7 straight starts in 12 days.

no doubt henrik needs to sit some games - do we really want him playing 75 games again. not me. every game he sits gives him more energy mentally and physically so he can play better on ties now.
