New 1st Power Play Unit

Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants reports that John Tortorella is going with the power play unit that cashed in on Sunday as the new first unit with Artem Anisimov, Brandon Dubinsky and Ryan Callahan along with Michael Del Zotto and Olli Jokinen on the points.

...i know Gaborik is struggling with the groin injury, but he is far and away the Rangers best offensive player and not having him on the #1 unit doesn't make much sense to me. You have to live and die by your big guns and he's the biggest one the Rangers have.

Torts says tonight's line combos not set in stone...

...16 games left in the season and the Rangers still don't have set line combos. Unreal.

On the team's lack of offense Gaborik said...

“Obviously, we didn’t have as much offense as we’d like but we just have to find a way, play hard and help each other,” said Gaborik of Sunday’s loss and Saturday’s 2-0 loss at Washington, his first two games back with the team. “We get the chances and it’s going to come, it has to come. To adjust from the Olympics takes a little time, maybe. I was playing on the left wing (for Slovakia) and a different system. We’ll be fine.”

...big game tonight against a struggling Devils team.
