Rangers 3, Flyers 1

The New York Rangers (31-29-9) defeated the Philadelphia Flyers (36-28-4) by the score of 3-1, today. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

...and this is why I'm a lowly blogger, not an NHL coach. I wanted revenge, but with Torts preaching patience the Rangers, instead of chasing Carcillo all over the ice and taking stupid penalties, went out, played an outstanding hockey game and picked-up a HUGE two points.

...i guess benching Avery worked. However, I'm not going to get overly excited about the pesky wingers performance until he can prove to me he can sustain this type of effort over a long period of time. He was outstanding tonight though.

...a team leading 24:20 of ice time and an absolute bomb of a goal on the power play. Could Rozsival actually have earned his paycheck tonight?

...that third goal is the reason why the Flyers, if they're lucky enough to even make it, are going no where in the playoffs.

...Jokinen has just awful hands. He had 2-3 golden opportunities to score in front of the net today and shanked all of them.

...Christensen was 10 of 11 on faceoffs, had two assists and was a +2 today. Sather absolutely struck gold with this guy. Torts needs to get him back on the top line with Gaborik.

...Dubinsky laid an absolute beating on Richards.

...the Garden should be rockin' when the Canadiens come to town on Tuesday.
