Callahan Tied for League Lead in Hits

Greg Wyshynski at Puck Daddy takes a look at some stunning numbers this season including hits where Ryan Callahan is tied for the league lead...

257

This number of hits for Cal Clutterbuck of the Minnesota Wild, the defending leader in that category ... but wait, what's this? Ryan Callahan of the New York Rangers also has 257 hits on the season? Granted, Clutterbuck (58 games) has had less time to bash opponents than Callahan (67) this season, but there's a chance the Wild hit-man may not finish on top. Unless they pro-rate hits based on games played, in which case this completely nebulous and subjective stat is getting way too much critical thought.

...this is obviously why Callahan is a crowd favorite at MSG as he is one of the few players on the team willing to take the body.
