Update, 2:06 p.m.:
Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants has this quote from Ryan Callahan on his leg injury...
“It feels a lot better today than yesterday,” Callahan said. “I had a good bike ride today, the next step is getting on the ice. We’ll see how it feels in the morning. It could’ve been a lot worse. Right now it’s day to day. If there’s a way for me to be out there, I want to be out there. The swelling’s not bad. Yesterday it was sore because it was the day after.”
Gross also reports on practice where the Ranger players were "loose" and working on the power play. Again.
Here's Brandon Dubinsky on the team's mindset...
“I think, the last two days, we’ve loosened up a little bit, in a good way,” Brandon Dubinsky said. “Obviously, we know what’s at stake right now. Somebody said it best, we still have an eighth of the season. We’ll take it one game at a time. No matter what happens, until there’s that tiny asterisk besides eight teams for a playoff spot and we’re not one of the teams, we’re not going to quit. A lot of people have counted us out. All we have is the 22 guys in here and the coaching staff to lean on.”
...its easy to play loose when you have nothing to play for.
Original Post:
Andrew Gross and Arthur Staple tweet that Sean Avery (leg) returned to practice this morning, while Ryan Callahan (leg) missed his second straight.
...while the Rangers are technically not out of it, I see no reason for them to play Callahan tomorrow and further injure himself.
