Last night, the Philadelphia Flyers (6th place - 82 pts.) lambasted the New Jersey Devils 5-1, stretching their lead over the Rangers (10th - 76pts.) to six points. The Rangers do have a game in hand.
Boston (80 pts.) now occupies the 8th spot, with Montreal (82 pts.) in 7th. Atlanta is in the 9th hole with 78 pts. Full standings here.
...to me, a Philadelphia collapse is still the only way the Rangers get in and that win last night hurts.
