Last night, the New Jersey Devils did the Rangers a favor by defeating the 8th place Boston Bruins (72 pts.) 3-2 keeping the Blueshirts (71 pts.) just one point out of the final playoff spot.
The Bruins, who have a game in hand, visit the Carolina Hurricanes tonight.
...when you're rooting for your rival you know your team is in a fight for their playoff lives.
