Traverse City Tourney Begins Today for Rangers Prospects

Newyorkrangers.com reports that the Rangers prospects team will face the Carolina Hurricanes today at 3 p.m. in their first game of the Traverse City Prospects Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan.

Two years ago, the Rangers won the eight-team tournament with a roster that included current Rangers Ryan Callahan, Brandon Dubinsky, Marc Staal. That team also included Artem Anisimov, Brodie Dupont, Bobby Sanguinetti, Mike Sauer and Miika Wiikman, who all spent last season with the Hartford Wolf Pack.

After today's meeting with the Hurricanes, the Blueshirts will face Atlanta on Monday and host Detroit on Wednesday before competing in a placement game on Thursday.

...from what I've been reading, Ranger prospects have been impressing in the OHL preseason so I'm really looking forward to see how the team will do at Traverse.

...nice to see the young guys heeding Tortorella's call to be in shape to begin the season, let's hope the NHLers are doing the same.
