The New York Rangers lost to the Detroit Red Wings by the score of 4-3, tonight. For a recap and box score go to newyorkrangers.com.
...c'mon can't we beat a Red Wings team without Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Franzen, Lidstrom and Rafalski.
...looks like Lundqvist found a pair of Bauer pads he likes. He was in mid-season form tonight.
...Zaba on the other hand was not.
...the Red Army line of Grachev-Anisimov-Lisin looked awesome tonight. All three took big steps towards solidifying a spot on the team.
...another player who looked like he was really fighting for a roster spot tonight was Voros. Wouldn't mind having him on the fourth line as long as he promises not to fight.
...for a young defenseman who is known for his offense, I thought Sanguinetti showcased some nice defensive skills. While Heikkinen flashed some real offensive ability. However, I thought Potter took a step back.
...i really need to go out and get a Callahan jersey. The kid can flat-out play. His goal tonight was the product of pure determination.
...Redden=Awful. How about tying the guy up in front of the net instead of having a front row seat to his tap in. How much longer on that contract?
...with an 0 for 4 tonight the Rangers are now 0 for 13 on the power play this preseason. When did the Rangers bring Perry Pearn back?
...not that I'm counting or anything (ok yes I am) but the Rangers have now given up five power play goals against in the first three preseason games. I know I sound like a broken record but the loss of Betts may really prove to be costly.

Totally agree. The decision to let Betts and Sjostrom go was one of the worst decisions of the Sather Era, if that's even possible to say.
Good game.
i have not watched any preseason, but are the guys on the pk actually going to be out there for the regular season? or are ther auditioning for a spot?
I think the poor pk is more of a product of Torts mixing and matching. It will also be much better if/when Dubinsky is signed.
