The Rangers Prospects defeated the Atlanta Thrashers Prospects by the score of 4-1 today on the second day of the Traverse City Tournament. The Rangers Prospects are now 1-1 in the tournament. For a full recap go to newyorkrangers.com.
Sam Klassen, Tomas Kundratek, Evgeny Grachev and Dale Weise all scored for the Rangers, while Chad Johnson, a 2009 Hobey Baker Award finalist at the University of Alaska-Anchorage who came to the Rangers in an off-season trade, got the victory in net with 28 saves.
Grachev was a +4 with five shots on goal, while Ethan Werek and Weise were each a +3. For a box score click here.
...looks like the prospects brought last night's third period momentum right into today's game. Looks like Grachev had a sick game. Too bad the NHL Network isn't televising any of these games. Would have been nice to see.
...the prospects have off tomorrow then right back at it on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against the Red Wing prospects.
