Leslie Treff at Hockey's Future recaps yesterday's Rangers/Hurricanes prospects game at the Traverse City Tournament and says this about the Ranger prospects...
"...Ryan Bourque showed speed and finesse in his play tonight. The fourth line of Daniel Bartek, Roman Horak, and Luke Walker was successful playing off each other, and those players were used more often as the game went along. Finally, to be successful in this tournament, Rangers top prospect Evgeny Grachev has to be dominant on the ice. However, he did not come anywhere near that level of play, and although he demonstrated some excellent speed and moves twice tonight, he must play that way consistently for the Rangers to be a factor here."
Treff adds that had it not been for the outstanding play of Rangers goalie Scott Stajcer, the game would have been out of reach for the Blueshirts at the end of 20 minutes.
...the team plays again today at 3pm against the Atlanta Thrashers prospects. I'll have a recap from that game later tonight.
