Mark Herrmann at Blue Notes reports that Marian Gaborik was held out of today's afternoon scrimmage he was originally penciled in to play, but will be on the ice.
...scary when Gaborik just being on the ice is good news.
Herrman also reports on the earful Chris Higgins received from John Tortorella during the morning session...
"You take it to heart and try to make yourself better," Higgins said. "He's won the Stanley cup, he knows what he's talking about."
...you're not in Montreal anymore Chris you're in Tortorella's world.
Herrman finally reports on Matt Gilroy actually enjoying Tortorella's conditioning regimen. Michael Obernauer at The Blueshirts Blog has more on Gilroy's day here.
...starting to get excited about Gilroy. Thought it was risky possibly starting the season with him as fifth defenseman but I'm gaining more confidence in the kid every day.
And for a recap of the afternoon's physical scrimmage which included a hard skating Donald Brashear and a goal by Evgeni Grachev visit Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants.
