Dubinsky Talks Contract & More from Informal Practice

Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants was able to catch-up with Brandon Dubsinky during informal practice today to discuss contract negotiations...

"Something has to give," Dubinsky added, referencing the start of the NHL free agency period. "This is like my July 1, these next two days. A lot of stuff can happen in two days."

...unfortunately I keep hearing the same things from Dubinsky and the Rangers and nothing has been getting done. Get it done!!!!

Gross also reports that Vinny Prospal and Henrik Lundqvist are the only Rangers' regulars not to be on the ice for one of the group sessions and that Christopher Higgins continued his strong showings, banging in a rebound against Matt Zaba as he skated hard to the net, then later roofing a backhander over Zaba.

...god Zaba is terrible. I think every report from informal practice has numerous goals being scored on him.

Steve Zipay at Blue Notes has more observations here.

Just because these goals are being reported doesnt mean Zaba is bad. I think its just moreso pointing out what these guys are doing well.

Im not so much trying to 'defend' Zaba as im moreso just trying to point out that hes probably facing how many shots a day at the sessions? Over 100 i'd guess... Hes going to let in a few goals.

The ones being noted are, for the most part, from players we have not yet seen in a rangers uniform.

Chris, i was really just kidding b/c i could care less how good or bad Zaba is playing. I merely found it funny that almost every goal reported from informal camp has been on Zaba.
