Rangers to Make Pitch for Souray this Summer?

Bruce Garrioch at the Ottawa Sun reports that the Rangers may show interest in Oilers defenseman Sheldon Souray this summer...

"The Oilers will move D Sheldon Souray and his $5.4-million cap hit this summer. While there was talk Souray would only accept a deal to the West Coast, his no-movement clause expires July 1. After that, the Oilers are free to trade Souray wherever they want in the final two years of his contract. The Rangers will make a pitch. They always do."

...unless Sather is able to send Redden back, his tenure with the Rangers needs to be over if he makes this move. Makes no sense cap or personnel wise.

Everybody has really got to stop publishing all this garbage from Garrioch, this guy is Eklund with a real job ...Nothing he has said about the Rangers HAS EVER BEEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO HAPPENING.

Dennis is absolutely right. This site is the greatest, please don't mar it with anymore nonsense from Garrioch. Nothing he has predicted has happened, and Souray makes no sense. There are much better defenseman on the market this summer (Volchenkov, Hamhuis) than this guy.
