Penguins 5, Rangers 4, OT

The New York Rangers (29-27-8) lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins (38-22-4) by the score of 5-4 in overtime, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

...Bettman 5, Rangers 4. Unreal how awful the officiating was tonight. That was pee-wee level. Cost the Rangers a point.

...having said that, when you're outshot 55-16 including 19-1 in the third period can you really blame the refs. And the Blueshirts had a 4-2 lead!!!

...did love the fight from the Rangers. They were tough and aggressive all night.

...i know he scored, but Dubinsky has to start shooting the puck more. He had a golden opportunity in OT and passed it up.

...somehow Rozsival has become the Rangers best defenseman.

...it's hard enough to stop Crosby, Malkin & co. so can the Rangers stop scoring on themselves.

...love the Rangers offense w/o Gaborik. You have to figure the team was too reliant on him.

...Lundqvist cannot make a save the rest of the season, although he was ridiculous tonight, and he's my MVP for getting in Crosby's face after another one of his patented dives. Really makes me angry to see a player at his level resort to diving.

...tough post Olympics schedule continues with Rangers in our nation's capital Saturday night.

To me, the rangers looked like they were passing WAY to much. They had a lot of opportunities to shoot/dump and instead tried to pass and set it up. Combine that with getting completely shut out of the last 10 minutes of the second period and you get an explanation for their lack of shots. Although I was sitting there waiting for them to get one shot thinking that if they got even one the momentum would turn....then Dubinsky scored that bomb.

The third period was weak sauce and almost unwatchable.
