Brashear Back In, Voros Out

Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants reports that Donald Brashear will be back in the line-up after being a healthy scratch the last two games. Meaning Aaron Voros is back in the press box.

On re-inserting Brashear into the line-up John Tortorella noted...

“I don’t want to sit Brash for five straight and so I’m going to pick and choose some lineups he plays against,” Tortorella said. “But I do want to get A.V. involved.”

...not happy with this decision. I liked what Voros brought on New Year's Eve. Unfortunately, Torts followed that performance up by only giving him 2 minutes on Saturday.

...if Torts doesn't want to sit Brashear maybe he should send him down to Hartford to get some games in.

Tortorella also touched on the back-up goalie situation...

“I got all the travel,” Tortorella said, indicating it was an intricate upcoming schedule in order to ensure Johnson and Zaba ice time. “Zaba backs up tonight and Johnson comes back and practices with us tomorrow and he’ll be with us for a few days there. We want to get him playing.”

Steve Zipay at Blue Notes has more.

Brashear is a waste of money and roster space. Period.

Im taking a poll. Tonight do I...

A: Watch the game on NHL Center ICe, non-HD and see the MSG feed but subject myself to Joe Micheletti

or

B: Watch tehe game in HD on NESN and have to listen to Jack Edwards Homer-ism?

Decisions, decisions...

Listen to it on the radio. Maloney and Albert are a great duo. Albert offers no color, just really good play by play. Maloney calls it like it is.

Micheletti thinks every NHLer is "big, thick and strong." He's a Rangers homer, or at least is becoming one.

Does the radio broacast it get aired on the web? If so, I was not aware of that option.

If not... Im S.O.L. there because I live just north of Boston

Yes, at game time the Rangers' official site has a link to a radio stream.

This site has links to streams of almost every NHL game. http://www.myp2pforum.eu/nhl-icehockey/

Doc sucks too. He's good at first. But he tries to do color AND play-by-play...it's just too much. He spends so much time spewing knowledge. A little goes a long way.
