Would You Rather Have Manny Than...

Rick Carpiniello at the Rangers Report takes a look at how former first round Rangers bust Manny Malhotra is fairing with the first place San Jose Sharks (pretty good actually - 9g, 13a & +14) and asks this question " Would you rather have Manny than …"

Would you rather have Manny than … Marian Gaborik? No.
Would you rather have Manny than … Brandon Dubinsky, Ryan Callahan or Artem Anisimov? At this point, probably not. They have better upside and are younger. But Manny’s as good as any of them right now.
Would you rather have Manny than … Chris Drury? I won’t even bother with that one, but you could have 10 Malhotras for Drury’s salary.
Would you rather have Manny than … Ales Kotalik, Sean Avery, Vinny Prospal, Christopher Higgins, Brian Boyle, Erik Christensen, Aaron Voros, Enver Lisin, Donald Brashear? NO DOUBT!

...like I don't hate this team already. And now I have to see this.

...when a former first round bust is better than 90% of your team you know you're f'ed.

To cheer you up check out David S.'s list of Avery-isms over at Stalking Steve Phillips.

I've watched a few Sharks games over the past month or so and you definitely know when Malholtra is on the ice.

I'll keep from cursing so you don't delete my comments.

Carp is a moron this is a dumb article. Callahan is on pace for another 20 goal year. Dubi is on pace 45-50 point season and he missed a lot of games because of his injury. Malhotra is not as good as them. There is no GM in the nhl that would rather have Malhotra instead of a young Anisimov.

Malhotra has never scored more than 12 goals and had more than 35 points in a season. Muckler was right he is a dime a dozen player. Higgins, Prospal, Kotalik, Avery all are better players than him and have had better careers. Yes I know Higgins and Kotalik have been awful this year. But put them on San Jose and you will love having them because there roles would be smaller.

Malhotra is playing on an elite team he is asked to do less. He is the type of player who you love to have on the 4th line on a stocked stanley cup contending team.

If you put Malhotra on the rangers he would be similar to Brian Boyle.

How about Malhotra over Scott Gomez, Simon Gagne, Alex Tanguay and Robyn Regher? All players that were selected AFTER Malhotra during his draft year.

Two right-on comments. Way more intelligent assessment than what's going on over at the LoHud Zoo.
