Senators 2, Rangers 0

The New York Rangers (22-18-7) lost to the Ottawa Senators (23-21-4) by the score of 2-0, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

...you have to wonder how the Rangers can come out with such a poor effort knowing this game had trap written all over it. They were lucky to even be in it as long as they were with all the turnovers and lackluster play. Simply out played tonight.

...one goal against in the last two games and no wins to show for it for Lundqvist. Unreal.

...please tell me the Blues aren't starting a goaltender with the last name Brodeur against the Rangers Saturday night.

...no goals since Torts broke up the Dubinsky-Christensen-Gaborik line. Might be time to put them back together.

...despite being slammed to the ice then dropped by a right hand, I liked Brashear getting int0 some scraps looking to spark the team.

...the power play is officially Perry Pearn-like.

...it seems like Avery needs motivation to play the way the Rangers need him to. Tonight it was Ruutu.

...off tomorrow then on to St. Louis to take on JD's Blues.

ont understand how this is a trap game, after coming off o a shutout loss....Just because you play a good game with high emotion the night before shouldnt mean the next game is a trap...especially when you lose and dont score...

2 take aways from this game was/ and I agree, since propal came back we have scored no goals, and his line is not playing all that well.

2nd, Brashear is done...he is being dropped regularly when he fights by 1 punch and now is also being tossed around like a lightweight....Its time for the Rangers to do him a favor and sit him down....when you lose a fight it can only kill any momentum you may have ....and/or increase the momentum the other team has...its just time for him to stop playing altogether...

Fleisch it was a trap game b/c despite not winning or scoring it was one of the Rangers best efforts of the year against arguably the best team in the league. If they played any other team that night they blow them out. Add the fact that a struggling Senators team is in town and you have the makings of a trap game.

that is a BS excuse for a team that has given a inconsistent effort all season...The fact is they played a team missing there top 3 players and there top 2 goalies, and they crapped the bed....even on a bad night they should be able to beat this team....When they miss the playoffs, you can look back at this game or the Philly game they couldnt get up for or the Pitt game they were blown out, or the Islanders game that they were flat for...

How many times this season has Torts used his Timeout in the 1st 5mins.....Not a trap game, just typical Rangers

While I agree with your point 100%, I don't think you can dismiss the fact that the Rangers were playing against what should have been an inferior opponent coming off an emotional game. Which is always considered a trap game. Either way they lost a game they should have won so who cares.
