Rangers 8, Lightning 2

The New York Rangers (24-17-9) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (19-20-10) by the score of 8-2, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

...the Rangers are playing Tortorella's system to perfection right now. The forecheck is relentless, the defense is jumping in the play and they're finally starting to stick-up for one another. This was the team I was hoping to see all season.

...while there were many tonight, my #1 star was Aaron Voros. Brashear can sit in the press box for the rest of the season for all I care. Voros set the tone right away with a fight, he knew when to back down and chipped in on the scoreboard. I think I even heard a Vo-ros chant. Wow!!!

...Gaborik showed everyone he's more than just a goal scorer with four assists tonight.

...you know things are going wrong when Higgins scores against you.

...amazing stat of the night, Dubinsky's power play goal was his first of the season.

...two goals and five assists for Ranger defensemen tonight.

...welcome back to the scoring column Vinny Prospal.

...with the way Lisin is playing looks like the Rangers are going to have $9 million (Kotalik) sitting in the press box next to Brashear for a while.

...off tomorrow then off to Philadelphia on Thursday.

I agree with your points, especially on Voros and Lisin. I would be happy to see these two playing and Brashear and Kotalik sitting for the rest of the season.

BROTHER! Got to give Dooby props on the fight, gave that bum Halpern a bloody nose and talked some fantastic smack after Halpern bitched out and threw him to the ground.

Fights, hits, goals. Ice hockey.

Second best game of the season, right behind the 1-0 Shootout loss tot he Devils last week.

Brashear and Kotalik need to remain the the press box. Voros played EXACTLY how he shouldve and he very much deserved that goal for his hard work and his will to not fight Konopka the second time. What a wise choice, and he was rewarded for it.

quote of the night was by Tampa Coach: Only thing we did right tonight was get to the game on time, the bus driver was the best guy we had.....

Best effort in back to back games in a long time....I finally think we have the right players on the ice...

While I dont think Voros is the answer for enforcer (he got pummeled by malone in the 3rd) he is the better option than putting brashear on the ice...

Looking forward to Philly and Montreal rematch!!!
