Rozsival Draws Praise from Torts

Jim Cerny at newyorkrangers.com has this quote from John Tortorella on Michal Rozsival's recent play...

“He has certainly brought his consistency to a different level, as far as smart plays with the puck, and especially with his intensity and competitiveness,” Tortorella said of Rozsival. “I think he has really worked on that part of the game. We have him in all situations now, and he really has been a pretty steady player for us this season.”

...while it's been all downhill for Rozsival since his double overtime winner in Game 3 of the Rangers/Sabres 2007 Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, one thing you can't criticize Rozsival on is his effort. He might be dreadful certain nights, but at least I feel he's trying. That's more than I can say for another overpaid Rangers defenseman.

Cerny also reports on the Florida homecomings for Vinny Prospal and Ollie Jokinen.

he has definitely picked himself up in the latter part of this season. It looks like he regained the form he had a few years ago. Kudos to torts for bringing that back out of him after slumping the last few seasons
