Callahan Very Likely Back Tonight

Andrew Gross and Steve Zipay both report that Ryan Callahan is almost assured of playing tonight in Buffalo...

“It felt good today,” said Callahan, who skated yesterday with the team for the first time in 10 days and without the luxury of skating on his own first. “It’s another good day. I’ll take warmups. I’m really happy it’s responded well. I went pretty hard on the ice (yesterday). There was no swelling, no side effects. If it was November, maybe I’d get a little more skating in. But it’s not November. We have four games left.”

Callahan will wear a brace on his left knee.

Callahan's return would mean that recent call-up Dale Weise will not be making his NHL debut.

...i'm normally against bringing a player back too quickly from injury, but with just four games remaining the Rangers need all hands on deck.

Sean Avery did not make the trip to Buffalo.
