We all know how it worked out, but I don't think any of us would have thought that the Flyers and Bruins would have won their first round match-up, along with the Canadiens forcing a Game 7 against the #1 seeded Capitals.
So I've got to ask you guys and gals, if the Rangers would have won that shootout against the Flyers would they be playing a Game 7 in Washington tomorrow?
I'd say no. While Lundqvist has the ability to match Halak's amazing goaltending (Habs would have been out in five without him) the Rangers offense, as it was all season, would have been their undoing.

Hard to say as it depends how much heart they played with. If the Rangers played their asses off, yeah they coulde fared just as well. however, I dont think they wouldve done it.
I dont think we would have had a chance against washington, even with the recent playoff history and how effective the habs have been and how poorly ovie's played, we just dont have the defense or scoring. goaltending can take you far but not that far. lundy would have burned out
We'd win the first three against Washington and blow it, just to shatter all of our hearts 2 years in a row.
Not a chance.
There's no chance our Rangers would still be playing.
I still think the Caps would have swept.
Redden would have a -12 in a 4 game sweep by the Caps.
Saying the Caps would have swept the Rangers is just being hateful. What the Habs did was pull Halak and gave Price a start to shake things up and it worked perfectly. Halak sat a game on the bench and then came back with a vengeance. The Rangers would have never done that to Henrik even if he had a terrible game and that is one of the big differences between the Rangers and other teams "MANAGEMENT". You match up line for line the Habs are no better talent wise than the Rangers but they just play with so much heart and like I said management and coaching play a big part.
We would lasted 6 games against the Caps, but I think we could have taken the Devils the distance and possibly even won the series.
