Campbell Linked to Rangers Again

For the second time in a week goalie prospect Jack Campbell, who led Team USA to a World Junior Championship title, has been mentioned as a possible target for the Rangers with their #10 pick in June's NHL draft according to Kevin Allen at USA Today...

"Maybe Atlanta at No. 8 might consider him, or possibly the New York Rangers at No. 10, but that is only speculation based on looking at their prospect list."

...with reports of Lundqvist's knee hurting and only Chad Johnson as a legitamate goaltending prospect maybe Campbell does make sense. Nah, the Rangers have way too many holes (play-making center, scoring winger, physical defenseman) to focus on a goalie of the future with the #10 pick.

Campbell isn't the best pick for the rangers. They need to take a forward who will help them within 1-2 years. With the organizational depth on defense (Sangunetti, McDonagh, Potter, Sauer, etc) and Scott Stajar and the ability to draft good goalies late in the draft, they need to take the best available forward at their position and not try and move down in the draft.

For the Future Campbell can be good, ok, but don't resolve our problems! We need a foward in the 1st pick. If we ll pick a goalie, pick on 2nd round.... look Lundqvist, he is a 7 round pick, and Montoya, was a 1st round and even play in NHL.

Sorry about my English... i am portuguese, and habe a Rangers Blog in portuguese, the RAngers Brasil.

i dunno, i was against a goalie at the start...but think of this...

if sather isnt going to do anything about redden/rosivals contracts, lundy will be...31? 32?
before they expire...and we wont be a playoff team with those 2 on our roster (espeically for what they get paid)

not saying he cant win a cup at that age...but he might not be a ranger...just sayin it all depends on what sathers plan is with this team (and who can honestly say they know what that is with such questionable signings?)
