Christensen OK & Post Game Quotes

Rick Carpiniello at the Rangers Report reports that according to John Tortorella, Eric Christensen had the wind knocked out of him on the hit that knocked him out of the game late in the third period.

...really? That's not what it looked like on TV. Seemed more like a hand injury. I'm thinking Torts is holding back some info.

Carp also has some quotes...

Torts on Christensen's play:

"He was challenged a little bit before the game about stepping up, with a number of our top guys. Our fourth line can’t be our best line at this time of year. And he played well. I thought everybody played a little better.”

Lundqvist on the home-and-home vs. Flyers:

“We know we have to win both, but we have to start in the first period Friday, and that’s it. We don’t have to look any further than that. It’s fun to be here. A couple of weeks ago I thought we were out, but we never gave up and we’re back in the race here.”

Dubinsky on sticking up for Gaborik:

“It’s our best player. To be honest, I just saw them go down, and any time somebody takes a run at your best player you’ve got to be there, and I think even if you get the extra like I did—I don’t think I deserved the extra; I think I just went in there and was waiting around and he dropped his gloves before I did—but if you take an extra, usually your team’s going to kill it off because that’s good team toughness.”

Christensen was the number 1 star last night and he did not skate out on the ice when announced
