Dubinsky, Gilroy to Play in World Championships

Kevin Allen at USA Today tweets that both Brandon Dubinsky and Matt Gilroy have agreed to play for Team USA at the World Championships in Germany.

...if nothing else Gilroy should be rested. Sorry I had to. In all seriousness, this could be a great opportunity for Gilroy to gain some confidence going into the off-season.

While Larry Brooks at the New York Post also tweets that Michael Del Zotto is on the radar for Team Canada and Artem Anisimov is expected to play for Russia.

...i would rather see Del Zotto at home resting up after grinding through the longest hockey season of his life.

No, I'd actually like to see all of these guys go. Del Zotto will learn a lot from guys like Neidermeyer, bouwmeester, phaneuf and Doughty. Very similar to Stamkos last year who really took off when he was on a line with St Louis and really matured a lot.

your dumb. of course they should play. its 22 days away first off, plenty of time to rest. del zotto is a professional athlete, you act like he wont be playing hockey and working out all summer. they work just as hard in the off season trust me, this tourny is not like the nhl playoffs. its short and not as intense. they will play with decent players and maybe build some confidence. absolutely no physical reason why they shouldn't play, understandable if they just plain don't want to.

Thanks for the assessment of my intelligence Adam.

Just my opinion man. Doesn't mean I'm right or wrong. You guys actually make great points as to why he should play.
