Rangers 4, Bruins 3

The New York Rangers (34-24-8) defeated the Boston Bruins (43-15-9) by the score of 4-3, today. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports.

...sure Boston was playing the second game of back-to-backs and Fernandez was atrocious, but that doesn't bother me for a second. The Rangers were the better team today and deserved the victory. To me the most exciting game of the season. And for that I have to give Tortorella a big fat thank you.

...another thank you goes to Avery. The energy he brings to the Garden is infectious. From the second he stepped on the ice today the Garden was rocking more than at any other time this year. And how sweet would it have been if he buried that semi-break away chance in the first. 52-23-13 with Avery in the line-up.

...congrats to Antropov on his first goal as a Ranger. Here's to hoping that's the first of many. He now has one goal and two assist in his first two games as a Ranger.

...our goal scorers continue to score as both Gomez and Zherdev have now scored in three straight games.

...since I used to count the o'fers on the power play when Pearn was running things, it's only fair I start counting the power play goals now that they're finally scoring some. That's five power play goals in five games under Tortorella.

...while I'm sure Lundqvist would have liked to have Chara's goal back, when the game was on the line he was unrelenting.

...no time to celebrate as the Rangers are right back at it tomorrow night in Carolina in a game with huge playoff implications.
